Mario Draghi called on Algeria to increase gas supplies to Italy

Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi noted that in recent months Algeria has become the main supplier of gas to Italy and added that he expects a further increase in gas supplies from Algeria in the coming years. He said this during a visit to Algiers, his words were quoted by his office.

According to Draghi, „Several days ago the Algerian company Sonatrach announced that it was going to soon send 4 billion cubic meters of gas to Italy under the agreement signed in April with ENI.”

„This is faster than expected and gives grounds to expect even more significant deliveries in the coming years,” the prime minister summed up.
